The Attack of the Big Cats Collection, Part One: Attack of the Big Cats

Written by Tyler Nabors | Mar 31, 2020 2:00:50 PM

While my cats motivated me, another thing that motivated me was having a good story. It needs a twist, it needs secrets, and it needs danger to be exciting. That’s only my opinion but whatever story you write could be better than mine. And you can do things that are awesome.

The Attack of the Big Cats

In a house, deep in the mountains, in the harsh cold, with barely any resources, a family lived, not rich nor poor. High in the North American mountains, the door swung open making a creak, a boy stepped out. His name is Henry. The door closed behind him making the same creaking sound, then the door swung open with enough force to dent a piece of steel, the door almost breaking.

“I’m ready, I’ve been training my life for this!” Henry shouted.

“You're only 11, everyone else will be older”. Henry’s father said in a sad voice.

“Bren, he is ready.” Henry’s mother managed to say while she was panting like she swam across the ocean. Henry’s dad sighed and walked back inside.

“Bye guys, I’ll see you soon.” Henry sighed. He walked down the mountain, his steps getting lighter, he grabbed his spear and then his tamed snow leopard Snowy jumped up in front of him and blocked Henry from going any farther.

“Snowy, I won’t be long. You got Avalanche to play with.” Henry said. Snowy got out of Henrys way. Then he walked down for a few minutes when a mountain lion jumped in front of him.

“COUGAR! NO, MOUNTAIN LION! Wait still not right, PUMA! Wait AVALANCHE!” The big cats looked at Henry scared.

“I’m just kidding Avalanche. Nobody would think a puma, cougar or mountain lion were the same things. Those bird brains.” Henry joked. Avalanche gave Henry “an and after that” kinda look and then jumped on Henry. Henry was squeezed like a squishy or trampoline, then he saw Avalanche's stuffed rabbit barely in reach and then threw it away from him when a leopard snatched it from the ground at 36mph. Henry chuckled.

“I’ll find one on the way back for you, play with Snowy.” Henry pointed up the path where Snowy usually was. He continued down the trail and heard a horn and Henry almost immediately realized that The Test (which was a test that outcast or lower level people could do to get back in a higher rank or join the tribe. There were harder ones for tribe leader ones but nobody did that.) was about to start, Henry ran as fast as he could when he went through the a savanah when a cheetah gave him an, “I’ll beat you to the end” kinda look and then Henry nodded and then they raced and the cheetah went as fast as he could but close to the end the cheetah came to a stop.

“Don’t go so fast because you can’t go as far, you’ll probably beat me next time though.” Henry shouted. Henry didn’t like hurting big cats, he liked them and he wouldn’t hurt them. As a narrator I have to tell you something about the main character. Anyways, when he got to the village he had to race up a hill and made it to The Test just in time. Henry was panting as if he swam across the ocean like his mother did.

“What is the heaviest big cat!?” Somebody on a platform yelled. Henry raised his hand but somebody else beat him.

“YOU!” The guy yelled.

“Tiger!” The person who was picked said.

“Go over there, I’m Oscar.” Oscar pointed to the start of a finish line far from the ground and the girl ran over to where Oscar pointed.

“Can snow leopards roar!?” Oscar shouted. Henry was one of the only ones who raised his hand.

“You!” He pointed to Henry.

“No!” He shouted. Snow leopards couldn’t roar because they’re local chords were different and they made a lighter puffyer sound called a chuff.

“Go over there.” He ran next to the girl.

“Hi.” He said.

“Hi, I’m Asha.” She said. Her voice was nervous and shaky.

“Henry.” Henry said.

“It takes so long. I’ve been here before, and I already won but I am going to redo it so I can try to get a higher rank. But I don’t want to win which is weird.” Asha said.

“I’d rather see someone else win, maybe you or someone else, I don’t know.

“HI GUYS OMG I’M HERE AND HELLO MY NAME IS WALLY! DID YOU KNOW THAT TIGER CUBS LEAVE THEIR MOM AT 2, I couldn’t do that.” Wally said. His voice was squeaky and happy.

He sounds happy! Yay. Henry thought.

“I think he’ll be the silly one.” Asha whispered.

“What are you talking about?” Wally joined in. “Nothing!” Henry and Asha said at the same time. “Ok.” Wally said.

“Sup peoples whatcha chatting about.” Name’s Thomas. What about you guys?” Somebody said.

“I’m Asha, this is Wally and that’s Henry.” Asha said.

“Hi.” Henry and Wally said at the same time.

“OMG WE SAID THAT AT THE SAME TIME.” Wally shouted excitedly.

Oh no. Well I’m gonna enjoy this. Thomas said under his breath.

“Ok that concludes one part of the test. Now part two.” Oscar yelled.

“Everyone over there stays, if you're not over there then go.” Oscar slowly walked over to Wally, Thomas, Henry and Asha. “

Now everybody, climb the mountain.” Oscar said in a light voice. Oscar then climbed the mountain, while he was doing it, he said.

“I’m joining you.” He said in a sly voice. The second Oscar said that everyone climbed the mountain as if it was the size of their foot. When they got to the top they were in a snowy wonderland with a snow leopard here and another there.

“Wow, I’ve never seen anything like this.” Henry said in a passionit voice.

“I’M SO EXCITED.” Wally yelled.

“ Oh, Wally had a big field of snow.” Wally tumbled to the ground and started making snow angels. And then he sprang to his feet.

“YAY YAY YAY, YAY YAY YAY! With a snow leopard there an-.”

“DO YOU MIND WE ARE TRYING TO DO SOMETHING HERE!!!!!!!” Thomas yelled.

He has problems! Henry thought.

“Thomas! What are you doing? You could cause an avalanche or get the snow leopards angry.” And a moment later.

“I think both happened.” Henry said in a squeaky voice. Everyone looked in front of them and there was a leap of snow leopards growling at them and trying to run down the mountains at the same time.

“This way everyone this way.” Asha yelled and pointed to a walkway.

“Let’s go snowy leopards!” Henry yelled. The snow came to them faster than a cheetah with water that would go straight into its immune system.

“Fast Fast FAST!” Oscar said. After a while a big “BOOM” came.

“What was that?” Wally said in a scared voice.

“I don’t know but keep running peeps.” Thomas yelled as he got in the lead. When they got far enough from the mountain the same “BOOM” hit the earth again. The ground shook worse than an earthquake and everyone stumbled to the ground.

What is happening? Henry thought. Then a figure came from the mountain.

“I am Rock.” He said. Henry had heard of Rock, he was the King of Tribes, Henry heard there was one that he failed to conquer but many people said it was fake. Then a loud scream came and everyone fell asleep.

“Henry, Henry wake up. HENRY WAKE UP THI-” A voice said to him.

“OK I’M AWAKE!” Henry opened his eyes to find Asha, Wally and Oscar. After a while he said.

“Where’s Thomas?” Henry asked. Asha then sighed.

“He fought too hard and, well, wasn’t the most cooperative.” Oscar and Asha said at the same time in a sad voice.

“Guys, I know a way out.” Henry said half listening to Asha and Oscar.

“Already?” Wally questioned. He turned his head to Henry.

“I bet he’s lying.” Oscar said and everyone faced Oscar.

“Out.” Henry said 3 seconds later. Everyone stared at Henry. Oscar frowned and Henry opened the cage and then walked through the cave with the others and then found their stuff. They ran over to their stuff and then later found an exit. They ran out into the open world and headed to a town south of them that they could barely see. Then they saw a black figure in the distance.

Rock! Henry thought. Oscar, Henry, Asha exchanged glances.

“Who is that, probably a visitor.” Maybe my mom? Wally asked. Everyone stared at him and said.

“Rock!” They made a circle around Rock and then an hour later made it to the town. It was not a quiet town though, Henry felt like there were 100 parties merging into one. Then they got used to it so they got food and water when they saw Rock in an arena in the center of the town. They all then froze and stared at each other. The arena was big but not big enough for a war, but rather for a quarrel.

“Guys we need to go.” Henry said. Rock then looked up to the squad and then ran up what looked like an emergency walkway that went back into the town.

“So maybe it was my mom coming to us. Man I feel bad.” Wally said but everyone ignored him.

“I’ll hold him, you guys get home.” Henry whispered. Wally, Asha and Oscar thought of an argument but couldn’t think of one. Then Rock swiped at the squad and Henry was caught in his large hands.

“Run guys run!” Henry shouted. Rock threw him into the arena but right before he couldn’t be seen and disappeared into the arena Henry winked and he knew Wally, Asha and Oscar saw it. Then Rock shot the tip of Henry’s spear and the tip fell off and his spear was now short and stubby. Then Rock threw a bow and shot 10 arrows at Henry’s feet.

“No spears allowed.” Rock said with a sly grin. Henry already knew what to do. He had never really done anything with a bow but he's messed with arrows more than with dirt. Henry grabbed the bow and the arrows and ran to Rock. The arena was long so Henry knew only good timing could make this happen. It felt like an hour but he got close enough to smack Rock in the face with his bow. He hit Rock with the bow and Rock fell to the ground and Henry saw a wood cage that probably had something in it. Henry got an arrow and started to try and cut the ropes. The ropes were very thick, but then Rock shouted.

DON’T TOUCH THAT. He screamed like his life was in danger.

What if he is in danger! Henry thought but he just said,

“I’m fine.” Henry put a smirk on his face. Then Rock tried to shoot Henry but instead loosen the rope. Henry then gasped with relief that the arrow didn’t hit him and the cage released and a bunch of big cats scrammed out of the cage. After that Henry ran for his life, but then Rock ran too, and the whole town did too.

Everyone is scared of these big cats, but why? Henry thought.

Henry knew what to find out, but he didn’t know how.
